Photographs taken off the coast of Western Australia capture the clarity and texture of the water and shoreline, where &#8220;wind, swell and underwater topography create the most powerful and visually striking wave formations I have ever encountered,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n<p>Krautgartner&#8217;s latest series is titled <em>Waves Ocean Force.<\/em> Turquoise water swirls, sprays, rolls and washes over the sand, so precisely focused that the phenomenon appears almost abstract. The artist spends time planning and waiting for ideal weather conditions and swells to capture high-resolution images, some of which he plans to convert into large-format prints. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><\/figure>\n<p>Taking an analytical approach to waves, considering their physical properties and geologic impact, Krautgartner is also interested in highlighting our emotional connection with the ocean. \u201cWaves have always fascinated me \u2013 not just as shapes, but as fleeting configurations of energy shaped by global and local forces,\u201d he says. \u201cWhat attracted me to Western Australia was the possibility of seeing this process in its most profound and most precise form.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Krautgartner&#8217;s work will currently be on view until the end of January <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lisboa-fotokunst.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Livia Lisboa Fotokunst<\/a> in Hamburg, and he
